About Asian Austin

Asians are the fastest growing minority in Austin and in Texas. Yet, Asians are the most overlooked. This cannot continue.

Asians are a hugely diverse group: Vietnamese, Indian, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Filipino, Thai, Malaysian and so many others. Despite our differences, we have a great deal in common.

We share a love of family, a passion for our culture, including our cuisine, language and art. We care about business and working hard. We care about the community as a whole, the politics of our city and country. We are Asian Austin.

The idea for Asian Austin started out of the desire to pass along my Chinese culture down to my 1-year old son, who is half white. I want him to speak Chinese, grow up loving Chinese food and to appreciate his Chinese ancestry.

I know these things are important to you as well. Asian Austin will bring the latest news that are important to you so that we can continue to share our culture with our children and with Austin.
