Join Asian Pacific Americans for Progress for the second annual State of Asian America House Party. Kalpen Modi, Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and Congressman Mike Honda (CA-15) will participate via conference call for the nationwide event. Get updates from the White House, Congress and grassroots activists on the progress we made the past year. Other speakers include, Kiran Ahuja, Executive Director, White House initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Ami Bera, Candidate for U.S. Congress (CA-03), and Marissa Graciosa, Director, Fair Immigration Reform Movement. Following the call, house parties around the country will discuss concerns, priorities, and next steps for our community. House party discussions will be compiled in a report to be sent to our White House contact.
This year, there will be two house parties in Austin, one north and one south. The north Austin house party is hosted by Austin NetIP (Network of Indian Professionals) at the home of Sonia Kotecha on Jollyville Road from 3 to 6 p.m. Sodas and water provided; please bring a favorite snack to share.
