Tune in to KLRU on Friday, November 18th at 8 p.m. to catch the 2011 Austin Asian Occasion. The Austin Asian Occasion (AAO) organized by the Asian American Cultural Center and the Asian American Community Partnership is an annually event on the last Saturday of May at the Long Center.
The event is a celebration of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May and a fundraiser to support the mission of a local nonprofit. The Beneficiaries were (2008) Victims of the Chinese Earthquake, (2009) Meals on Wheels and More, (2010) Ronald McDonald House, (2011) KLRU, Austin's local PBS.
The 2012 Beneficiary will be: People Community Clinic (PCC). The mission of PCC is to improve the health of medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans by providing high quality, affordable health care.
