Calhoun (CAL) 100 on the UT campus "And Thereafter: A Korean "War Bride" in an Alien Land" (2004) tells the story of seventy-six-year-old Young-Ja Wike, one of the 10,000 Korean women who married American G.I.s. after the war to escape the crushing poverty of post-war Korea.
