The Asian American Cultural Center in northwest Austin hosted its annual Lunar New Year celebration on Sat., Feb. 10. Attendees enjoyed displays from various Asian cultures. Dancers entertained the crowd with Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Persian, Mongolian, Korean and belly dances. Various martial arts and tai chi demonstrations were also held. Among the highlights was the Lion Dance, performed by the Texas Dragon/Lion Dance Team. Musical entertainment included Taiko drums, Chinese opera, and classical music.
