This year think blue and don’t be afraid to promote yourself, according to master feng shui consultant Kathryn Weber. Weber is the publisher of the Red Lotus Letter feng shui e-zine, one of the longest running e-zines with 12,000 subscribers.

Weber shared her thoughts and predictions for 2010 at a networking meeting hosted by the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 27 at Satay Restaurant. More than 50 people participated with plenty of questions for Weber.

Weber explained that feng shui is simply working with the environment around you to create good luck for yourself.

“Feng shui helps things come to fruition whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing,” she said.

After describing some basic principles of feng shui, Weber described some of her own predictions for 2010, which is the year of the metal tiger.

“This year, with wood and metal, I see some good things. Metal is technology. Be thinking about technology and tech stocks – even companies that are not technical companies, but companies that do technical innovation,” she said.

Weber emphasized the color blue this year to counteract a deficiency of spring energy. She advised wearing more blue and drinking plenty of water.

2010 is a great year to be more assertive with your career and business, Weber said.

“If you want to get ahead, this is the time to promote yourself,” she said.

This year is also a year where women need to be especially vigilant about their health. Weber advised making health a priority – keeping up with doctor and dentist visits and general health improvement.

Weber closed with “six keys to feng shui success in 2010.”

1. Protection
2. Plan now for growth.
3. Think water for wealth: add water elements and plants in your home.
4. Promote yourself: write, speak, advertise
5. Polish – financial and appearance
6. Exercise leadership in your family and relationships. Step back and think about where you want to go with our families, priorities and values.
