Amy Wong Mok hosted an "Asian Americans for Cliff Brown" fundraiser on Jan. 23 at her home. Brown, who is running for Judge for the 147th District Court, spent much of the time speaking with people individually and in small groups, answering their questions and listening to their perspectives.
"My idea for district judge is rooted in service to the community. I want to make sure very decision I make reflects the values of the community," he said.
Brown, who has 20 years of experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney, has served as Austin Police Monitor since 2007. Brown said he wants to ensure all participants in judicial proceedings are treated with "fairness, dignity and respect," something that does not always happen.
Brown is originally from New York City and has lived in Austin with his wife and two daughters for more than 7 years. For more information, visit www.CliffBrownforJudge.com.
