This morning a Cambodian couple was arrested and deported (ostensibly to Cambodia) following a DHS raid. Left behind was their two year old child who, according to Texas Child Protective Services, speaks only Khmer.

The family is in need some one who speaks Khmer, and would be available to serve as an interpreter during this immediate phase. The state is now in the process of figuring out a foster care situation. More immediately, the person could provide some comfort to the child in her language.

Please send any contacts or leads along to me, Dr. Eric Tang, at erictang@mail.utexas.edu
