(reprinted from JASGA announcement)
Some of those who attended the June Japanese Cultural Salon on June 7th have already heard of the incident about the stolen Koi at the Taniguchi Japanese Garden.
Mr. Terry Ward, who was the presenter at the cultural salon and explained the Taniguchi Revitalization Project to us, has reported to JASGA that the Koi in the Taniguchi pond were stolen. We would like to ask the JASGA community to help in watching for any suspicious activities.
Here is the report from Mr. Terry Ward:
"Thirteen large koi have been stolen from the Lotus Pond in the Taniguchi Japanese Garden. Evidently the thieves climbed over the fence. Would it be possible to alert members of JASGA to the theft and ask them to report any suspicious activity involving koi to the Austin Police Department? We can only hope that the koi can be found safe and the thieves caught."
Please help to save the Koi and notify the Austin Police Dept. if you have any information about the stolen Koi from the Lotus Pond at the Taniguchi Japanese garden.
