The Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce, a catalyst organization for Asian businesses, organizations and chambers of commerce, has named Yvonne Lim Wilson its new Executive Director. As Executive Director Yvonne Lim Wilson is responsible for leading the operational and strategic efforts of the TACC and reports to its Board of Directors.

“TACC needed someone who has deep understanding of the Asian American community and enthusiastic about serving it for the greater good of the Greater Austin Community at large,” said TACC board director Jim Yatsu. “Yvonne is a perfect match for that role with extensive network in the community.”

Through her work as the publisher and founder of Asian Austin, an online news magazine, Yvonne Lim Wilson has experience working with organizations throughout the Asian community in Austin. Since 2009, she has served as a TACC board member leading marketing and public relations efforts for the Asia Food Fest, Lunar New Year Soiree and Connect Business & Career Forum.

“I am honored to take on this latest role as Executive Director for the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce, an organization that is dedicated to promoting and strengthening Asian businesses as well as our local economy,” Lim Wilson said. “Asians are the fastest growing demographic in Austin, and many Asians are small business owners. I am excited to serve this important sector of our community and economy.”

Yvonne Lim Wilson has more than a decade of experience in journalism and publishing, having worked as managing editor of the West Austin News and reporter for Community Impact newspaper. She is an ongoing volunteer for the Asian American Cultural Center, a member of the Capital Area Asian American Democrats, a charter member of Asian Business Women and continues to support UT’s Center for Asian American Studies, the Austin History Center, the Austin Asian American Film Festival, among other groups. She is also starting a new organization Asians in Media and Communication.

Yvonne Lim Wilson is replacing outgoing Executive Director Veronica Lee, who had held the position for three years as well as serving as a board member. Lee will be devoting more time to her career as a realtor for Keller Williams.

“With Yvonne, I am confident that TACC will continue to grow and be successful in contributing the Asian community with its core competence in business development and betterment of the community. To Veronica Lee, the outgoing ED, I would like to thank her for a great job done during her tenure as ED in the last three years,” Yatsu said.

“I also would like to thank Veronica for her strong leadership and dedication in the last three years,” Lim Wilson said. “With our latest success with the Connect Business & Career Forum providing services to the business community and facilitating one-on-one connections, I look forward to continuing our growth as an organization.”
