The third Annual Austin Asian Occasion (AAO) to benefit the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) was a great success. It was a tremendous community effort; the winners of our 5th Young Musician Festival, the performers of the different Asian cultural performing arts, the volunteers, the staff at the Long Center and the AAO organizing team contributed over 3,500 hours to produce this exceptional event.

About 1,000 community members participated in the event and together raised $5,000 to support the mission of RMH. Mayor Leffingwell joined in celebrating at the event and presented a proclamation to honor this event. Also, Colonel Johnston of 504th BfSB and his officers who traveled from Fort Hood to help celebrate our Asian Pacific American Heritage.

It is the organizers' belief that kindness begins at home. Event organizers thank the sponsors, volunteers, the performers and the audience for joining us to support the mission of the Ronald McDonald House to help families stay close to their children when they require major medical care.

Amy Wong Mok, Founder and CEO of the Asian American Cultural Center, the presenter of this event would like to thank the outstanding young members of the Leadership Team, who put in their heart, hard work, time and resources to make the 3rd Annual AAO an Austin tradition, for a very worthy cause.
