The "Say Hi to Taiwan with Your Photo and Win a Trip!" online contest has been launched. The contest has three phases:
1) The first phase, until Nov. 21, foreign and local netizens may for a team and upload one photo expressing their creativity and love for Taiwan. The contest is open to netizens around the globe including United States citizens and citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
2) The second phase from Nov. 21 through Nov. 30 will be an online vote to decide the contest winners. The "most creative" will win an NT $100,000 (US$3,300) travel allowance for use on a trip to Taiwan. Also, Nov. 21 through Dec. 8 will be a time for netizens to vote online to determine which cities and counties will host the contest winners as part of the travel itinerary. Cities and counties will have prepared tour packages to compete for one of these three titles.
3) In the third phase, "Fall in Love with Taiwan" from Dec. 12 through 19, the three winning teams will tour Taiwan. They will have the opportunity to act as "reporters" for the Taiwan E-government Facebook page during their stay by posting travel notes and reflections daily. By doing so, they will introduce Taiwan's many facets to the global community. At the end of the three teams' tours of Taiwan, monetary prizes will be awarded for "best content", "best photo" and "highest popularity." Each prize is NT$30,000.
