CNN's Campbell Brown dished about her love of politics, her humble start at a Topeka, Kansas news station, juggling work and motherhood, and the future of journalism at the United Way Capital Area speaker series. The event was held on October 19 at the AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center.

"I had one thing the others didn't have -- I had no life," joked Brown on how she got the plum job of covering then Governor George W. Bush's presidential campaign.

About 700 attended the fundraising event. United Way Capital Area addresses critical social issues by bringing people and resources together to create opportunities for individuals, families and neighborhoods to prosper. For more information visit www.unitedwaycapitalarea.org.
